Looking for a few good books this fall?
I’ve been blogging over at ChicagoNow, offering up my latest suggestions. You may want to try:
Nine Inches, by Tom Perrotta—a fantastic collection of short stories on the human condition. Beautifully written and well worth the time.
The Measures Between Us—Quiet, understated and sad, but engaging look at several interconnected relationships against the backdrop of rising water.
The Cuckoo’s Calling—That J.K. Rowling has a future in writing, I tell you.
The Ocean at the End of the Lane—Mesmerizing storytelling from Neil Gaiman. Simply enchanting.
The Light in the Ruins—Another strong effort from Chris Bohjalian, this time a historical fiction mystery set in WWII Italy.
You can’t go wrong with any of these, plus the many big releases, including Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep and Malcom Gladwell’s David and Goliath. Happy reading!
